At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Increase cultural competency and sensitivity around the LGBTQ community.

• Bring about positive, LGBTQ affirming change in the participant's knowledge, attitude, and behavior towards the LGBTQ community.

• Identify personal strengths in creating inclusivity within their team and/or organization.

• Identify ways to create a warm and welcoming environment for LGBTQ individuals within the practice.

• Utilize best practices to help increase LGBTQ patient comfort when interacting with staff.

• Better appreciate the challenges that may be faced by members of the LGBTQ community, which, in turn, may affect access and feelings toward health care.

• Describe how to address the needs of transgender patients.
