The mission of Sanborn Diversity Training Solutions, LLC is:
To help organizations increase their LGBTQ cultural proficiency and ensure they are utilizing best practices for LGBTQ diversity, equity, and inclusion.
To provide outstanding training and consulting services and to model excellence, integrity, and compassion in all our interactions.
Without specialized guidance, most organizations lack cultural proficiency around the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning) community. This is a concern both from the internal point of view and from the consumer-facing side. If LGBTQ employees are not comfortable at work or are not being treated equally, they will not be able to produce their best work, teamwork and morale will suffer, and even the possibility of lawsuits is present. On the consumer-facing side, organizations need to know how to sensitively and appropriately interact with LGBTQ clients/ customers in a way that makes them feel welcomed and appreciated.
Health care providers have a unique need for LGBTQ cultural competency training which is specialized for their field, including education on health care disparities and barriers to health care in the LGBTQ community.
Nonprofit organizations similarly need special training, which addresses the unique challenges faced by executive directors and nonprofit boards in this sector.
Finally, libraries as well find themselves with a unique set of challenges, including how to identify and reduce barriers to library use faced by the LGBTQ community and how to make the library a welcoming space for LGBTQ people.
We offer a solution to these needs – expertly crafted LGBTQ training seminars, designed to be taken by both management and regular employees, which address the educational needs described above. Specialized training is available for hospitals and other health care practices, as well as nonprofit organizations and libraries, to meet their unique needs.
We also take it beyond the classroom, with customized consulting services that meet each business or nonprofit where they are.
