Training for Libraries

At the end of this training participants will be able to:

Utilize best practices to drive enhanced awareness, understanding, and sensitivity around LGBTQ community issues.
Identify personal strengths in creating inclusivity in regards to their library.
Implement best practices for inclusive exchanges with LGBTQ community members.
Describe specific challenges transgender people have as employees and as library patrons.
Identify best practices for supporting transgender people as employees and as patrons.
Identify barriers to library use facing the LGBTQ community as a whole and how to reduce those barriers in their library.
Discuss how to make their library a welcoming space for LGBTQ people, which meets the specific needs of those community members and celebrates the richness of the LGBTQ community.
